Aloha!!

We have arrived in paradise!!! After a LONG flight we arrived in Honolulu for our "baby-moon" and got to meet up with an old friend from high school at of all places- the Honolulu Airport! Julie and Marcos Azua just got stationed in Hawaii about a month ago and they were on their way back to Texas as we were arriving at the airport. Funny how these things happen.

We took a shuttle to our home away from home, the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

This place is REALLY big! There are six different hotel buildings and over 100 shops and restaurants on the property. We got a real treat when we checked in. They upgraded us to beachfront corner room with not one but two balconies! We are on the 30th floor so the views are pretty amazing!

The time difference for us is six hours so even though we got to the hotel around 4 pm local time, it was already 10 pm our time. We went and got dinner, walked on the beach, then just took it easy in our wonderful room.

We also got a little bit of a special treat. I had looked into things to do at the hotel a little bit and found that the hotel hosts a Luau every night. Tickets were about $100 each so we weren't sure if we were going to do this or not. Turns out we can see (and hear) the show from our balcony! No need to spend that $200!!

So far everything is wonderful! We can't wait to soak up some sun and see what the rest of our week in paradise will hold.
