Baby Burrito

This is my little baby burrito. Every night as a part of our night time routine we swaddle Micah up and get him ready for bed. He sleeps really well in his crib when he is swaddled. He is establishing a routine now where he will go to sleep between 8:30-9 pm then wake up between 1-2 am and then again between 5-6 am. He is usually up for the day between 7-8. Nights have been going very smoothly most of the time now. He seems to understand night time sleep and almost always goes right back to sleep after his nighttime feedings. Mommy is getting more used to the schedule and we are all a little more well rested these days!

Micah's First Girlfriend!

Brad, Micah and I got to have a wonderful treat last night going to dinner with our friend from our days in Korea, Brady and his baby girl Chloe. We had a really great pizza dinner (Thanks Karen for the recommendation!) at Tomatinos. It was so much fun to catch up with Brady and meet little Chloe. She was such a doll! And as you see in the picture she loved Micah! I love this picture of the proud papas with their little ones!

Catching up!

I can't believe it has been almost a week since I have posted! Micah has kept all four of our hands full. Last Monday he got all dressed up for Mommy's lunch group. I couldn't resist snapping some pics of him in his cute little outfit!

Micah really enjoyed hanging out during lunch with baby Shaun. Micah generally gets bored after about 3 minutes of doing any activity but he probably played on the blanket next to Shaun for 30 min. Miracle! Don't they just look like the best of friends??

I decided I had better get some more pacifiers because Micah really likes them but he only takes one kind really well and I happened to get it at Big Lots. I went back to get more and they didn't have any anymore! I was panicking just a little inside because we only have 2 and we lose them daily. As I was leaving Big Lots I was trying to think where else I could possibly find some that were similar. I had already looked at Wal-Mart and on base (which exhausts most all of our options in Sumter) and then I saw the K-mart sign. I have only been there once since living in Sumter so I made my second trip. Hallelujah! Not only did they have them but they had lots of them!! I had to get this one below. When Micah was a few weeks old we noticed that anytime rock and roll came on he would quiet down. So it seems to be his genre of choice and now he can tell the world!

Bumbo Boy!

I put Micah in his Bumbo chair for the first time this week. He is getting much better at holding his head up and really stretching out so I thought I would give it a try. He wasn't too sure about it at first but then decided he kinda likes sitting up like a big boy. Yes, the bumbo is purple... Not so manly but, I got a great deal on it at a garage sale so this thrifty mom isn't ashamed of it!

Also, Micah is growing like a weed! I weighed him on our baby scale yesterday and he was 9lbs 5 oz. We haven't attempted to measure him but I bet he has also gotten taller since he still doesn't have many little baby rolls. He was 8 lbs 12 oz at our doctor appointment last week so he has gained over half a pound in a week. I thought he was going through a growth spurt!

Male Pattern Baldness Part 2

I was told that I didn't do Micah's hair justice in the last post so here are some more pics that show the real "hair situation." He lost all of the hair on top of his head but still has what we call the "old man ring" around the sides. Here are some better pics of the old man ring of hair. The good news is that Micah is already growing back his hair on top and has a nice coating of peach fuzz all over. We aren't too sure what color it will be. I have read that it is common for baby's hair to fall out and grow back a completely different color and texture. The fuzz looks pretty light but it could just be because it is so short and fine right now. Only time will tell!!

A week in review

Last week was a really busy week for us! It just seemed like every day brought new adventures. We did lots of errands and running around. We had a doctors appointment. We took walks and spent time with friends and got ready for Easter! It was a busy week! Here is Micah looking cute ready to go on our errands.

One of the most notable things that happened this past week was that Micah started smiling! He doesn't do it really often but in the mornings after a good night's sleep and a big breakfast he is just so happy and will sit with us and hang out. He gives us most of his smiles during this time. I guess he is a morning person! We are still trying to catch a good pic of it on the camera but here is our best try so far.

Another fun thing that happened this week was that my parents mailed us a baby scale that the office my Mom worked for gave us. We are excited to be able to watch our little guy grow and he is definitely still growing! We had a doctor's appointment last Thursday and Micah now weighed in at 8 lbs 12 oz ... That is over a pound gained from his last appointment. He is still measuring at 20.5 in so no change there.

I am also convinced that he is currently going through a growth spurt! Starting Friday he started wanted to eat much more often than he usually does. He also gave us some great nights of sleep. Thursday and Friday, I fed him around 11 pm, he woke up about 2:30 am, and then slept until 7:00 am!! Saturday and Sunday I fed him twice during the night, around 1:30 and 5:00 am, then he slept until around 7:30-8. This has been a great new trend and I really hope we can keep it up. It makes me feel more like a functional member of society when I get sleep.

Sunday brought Micah's first Holiday.... Easter! We got up and ready and went to Church. We were debating on what we should do with Micah. We thought about taking him to the Nursery but since he hasn't gotten all of his shots yet we decided against it. We ended up taking our sleeping baby to the service with us and he slept through the entire thing!! What a great kid! Here are the Easter Pics!

Then Mommy thought we could give him some Easter hair on his bald head and he was even less entertained by this!
