Happy 4 Month Birthday Micah (well... yesterday)! Here are the 4 month stats soon our growing boy.

Height 24.5 in ~ 34th percentile

Weight 13.09 lbs ~ 16th percentile

Head 17 in ~ 74th percentile

Looks like we have a big brain in there or something! We are glad he is healthy and growing strong.

Baby Talk

Micah has just been Mr. Talkative the past couple of days. I got several cute videos of him jabbering away this morning. Here are a couple of short clips.

M is for Mohawk!

As I mentioned in a post earlier this week, Micah's hair has really been growing out lately. Today I gave him his bath as we always do in our nighttime routine but when I dried his hair out with the towel this was the result! The littlest mohawk! It was so cute I grabbed my phone and snapped a couple of pics before it went back to its normal shape. We might have to try this look out again some day!

What I did on my summer vacation...

Life is rough being a 3 month old. You have to do things like hang out all the time and take trips to the lake with your Grandparents and your Mom. Even though Mom sometimes cramps my style by making me take naps and telling people i wear diapers, the Grandparents are pretty cool, and I had a great time. I got to hang out in the shade in the lounge chairs and watch the birds.

And when I got bored of that, I moved on to laying in the hammock. It was kinda weird feeling but once I settled in it was pretty relaxing. I liked my view of the lake and the cool birdhouse near by.

I found it to be a nice place to sit around and ponder the meaning of life. Just because I can't yet say all the words swirling around in my head doesn't mean I don't have deep thoughts!

I also like to hang out on the dock and look for minnows. I have to put my hat on though because it is pretty bright out there and the big people all keep telling me my Daddy has red hair and even though I didn't get the hair I got the pale skin!

One of my favorite parts about going to the lake is fishing! Grandma helped me catch a big one!! I am pretty much an expert fisherman now, so if you need any tips just let me know.

I was having so much fun until Mark (what we call Grandpa) said to me, "Boy! If you want to stay here then you need to earn your keep!" And then he made me get on the John Deer and mow the lawn!

It turned out to be pretty fun actually. I really like being at the wheel!

I really hope we get to go back to the lake soon. Grandma and Mark are so much fun and I get to do all these great new things. I didn't even get to ride the boat or jet skis this time so we have to come back soon! The only thing that could possible be better than this vacation is if Daddy could come!

Happy Father's Day!

Since we couldn't be with Daddy on Father's Day Micah made Daddy a special card that he culd e-mail to him so he would have something special from his first Father's Day.

Swaddle? I don't need no stinkin' swaddle!

We are finally starting to phase out of our Baby Burrito stage. Micah so strongly needed to be swaddled that I thought we might still be wrapping him up in his teens, but since his sleep has started to become a bit more consistent last week I decided to give the no swaddle approach a try during his morning nap.

Here is how it went:

8:04- Put in Crib

8:08- fussing stops and he is out like a light!

8:35- Brief fussing

8:38- Back to sleep

8:45- Back awake

8:55- Mommy rockes but decides he is not going back to sleep at the moment and takes him out to play

9:25- Mommy decides the nap shouldn't have been over and he definitly needs more sleep!!

9:30- Micah in crib swaddled and sleeping soundly

11:00- Micah wakes up much happier!

I have decided we will try to do one unswaddled nap a day until he gets more comfortable with it and then hopefully we will be able to make a full transition into sleeping unswaddled and into all those super cute PJs!

Guess what's new!

Hair! And lots more of it! I have noticed over the past couple of weeks Micah's hair has really gotten a lot longer. While he is still no Beatle, he has enough hair that is is starting to even find its natural part now. For a guy that started out bald this is certainly quite a bit of progress!
