Mommy or Daddy??

It is always a fun game to try to figure out who the baby looks like. We have been puzzling over Micah and we can't seem to decide. We thought it might be helpful to compare him to our newborn pics so we got our parents to send over a few. So far it seems like Brad has more votes from friends but I have gotten one or two!

Littlest Model

We had a newborn photo shoot this morning with Raleigh. She did such a great job with our maternity photos we couldn't wait to see how the ones today came out. And she didn't disappoint! Here are the first of the photos. More to come...

Picture of the day

Mommy played photographer yesterday while Micah was in a willing mood. I found out that I am not super talented at this... oh well! Thank goodness we have our friend Raleigh coming to take real pics tomorrow!

1st Doctor's Appointment

We were up and adam early this morning for our first trip to the pediatrician. We arrived and got checked in. I thought it was funny because there were three kiddos there and all of their names started with M. It seems to be a popular letter these days I guess! We went back to the room and got settled. The primary reason for this appointment is to check the baby's weight and jaundice levels. We passed both with flying colors! He had no problem at all with jaundice which is great since it is extremely common in newborns. Also, most newborns lose up to 10% of their weight in their first week of life then gain back up to their birth weight by their 2 week appointment. We are happy to report that apparently we have a super eater! Micah weighed 6 lbs 8 oz at birth. When we left the hospital on Sunday he was at 6 lbs 4 oz and then today, just two days later, we are up to 6 lbs 9 oz. So he is already back above his birth weight. What a blessing! We have been working hard at the feeding and sleeping so it is nice to see that it pays off! Here are a few pics from the morning:

Another big day!

So far it seems like everyday has been an adventure for our little family. Sunday was going home day. We had to check all of the boxes before we left so Micah saw the pediatrician, I got to see my doctor, we filled out paperwork, got the obligatory hospital pic taken, and listened to the nurses teach us basic care for the little guy. Then we packed up and made several trips to the car (where did all this stuff come from?!) and headed home.

Time for my going home outfit! Most of the newborn sized clothes are too big for him (see the big roll on the pants) but the Gerber brand newborn stuff fits just right (thanks for the tip Micheale!)
