Mommy's New Toy

We have been wanting to get a new camera for some time and with our little Speedy Gonzalez on the move we needed something that could keep up with him!  This past Sunday we finally got what I like to call a "fancy camera!"  I have done a little reading but don't know too much about it yet considering how powerful it really is!  Brad got home before dark today and the weather was gorgeous so we decided to take the camera out for a spin.  I am definitely still learning but here are some shots I got of our favorite model this afternoon.

The Teeth!

I finally got a shot where Micah is showing off those little teeth!  He has been quite destructive with those little things, chewing up everything including the crib!  Still no other teeth rearing their heads yet but he is definitely looking sure cute with the two he has!

Orange Baby Food Day!

What is Wednesday Sept 29th you ask?  Well it is orange baby food making day of course! 

I have been making almost all of Micah's food (only not making his cereal... hey I can't spend all day processing grains!)  We were running low on orange food so today became orange food day.  I stocked up yesterday at the store on sweet potatoes, butternut squash, acorn squash, and speghetti squash.  Good thing they were having a sale on squash!!  I spent ALL day making this stuff and still have a couple of dirty dishes left waiting on me.  I am hoping we now have a lifetime supply of orange baby food and I won't have to make it again!  Believe it or not, this picture is only about half of what I made... there is just as much already in the freezer.  I figured out that I made roughly $50 (Wal-mart price) of baby food for only $15!  I guess that makes it worth it.

Man's Best Friend

Our friends who we shared a cabin with while we were camping this weekend had a very friendly huskie mix  named Shasta.  Micah thought this was the coolest new toy that he had ever seen!  He followed that dog all around the cabin where ever he went.  Shasta thought Micah wasn't too bad either.  He even gave him a few kisses!

Micah loved his first trip to  the swingset!  He thought he was a big kid and was just so excited at the new sensation.

Camping fun!

This past weekend we went camping with all the families from Brad's squadron.  There is a lake about 45 min away that has an area owned by Shaw Air Force Base (where Brad is stationed) that has cabins, lake, access, ans a playground.  Of course the first thing Micah wanted to do was play on the playground.  He had his first time in the swing and loved it!

The next day we hit the lake and went out on a boat with some friends.  Micah was decked out for the occasion.  He really enjoys the boat ride (but no so much the life jacket.)  He even gets so relaxed out there with the water, the air, and the wind in his hair that he fell asleep and took a good long nap.  And doesn't he look comfortable?

Picture Perfect Family!

We had a wonderful trip to Myrtle Beach last week with Brad's family.  We spent lots of time at the beach and spending fun time with the fam.  One of my goals before we left was to get some family pics.  We got up early on our last day and took some pics.  A special thanks to Julie for playing photographer and to Tracy for letting us use her fancy camera!  Unfortunatly the day was not as pretty as we would have liked.  Even though we were out at sunrise the weather was cloudy and it was reletively gray.  Once we got the photos back I took my favorites and just photoshopped in a beautiful day!  It is absolutely amazing how you can change an image!  I am still learning and concurrently chasing after a 6 month old so they aren't perfect but I am certainly getting better.  I thought I would include the before and afters for you to enjoy!
